A: Advertising is a necessary evil that we must have on this website. These ads are managed by broker ad agencies and they use an algorithm based on demographics, page contents and so on. We do ask them not to post certain ads on here and sometimes those annoying ads do sneak up ever so often and Gunn always shoots them down when he finds them. Q: Why don’t you guys just take out all the ads?
A: We can’t do that. These ads and donations are crucial to keeping this site running. All the revenues generated from the ads and donations are paying for hosting fees, bandwidth, maintenance and upkeeping of this site. Now, without these revenues, this site will go down the tube (like how we flush the spammers).
